Energy transition in Lower Austria: number of communities doubled!
In the area of sustainable energy supply, a remarkable increase in energy communities has been remarkable in Lower Austria. According to a communication of the EVN , the number of active energy communities has doubled this year. There are currently 200 communities that manage more than 10,000 count points. In contrast, there were only 100 communities with around 5,000 count points at the beginning of the year.
high level of self -care and local solutions
The energy communities represent an attractive alternative to marketing the green electricity produced within the community. The high level of self -care, which is over 90 percent in some communities, is particularly remarkable. For example, the community in Lichtenwörth achieves a self-sufficiency of 95 percent with photovoltaic mode and biogas plants. A supply of 92 percent is also achieved in Amstetten by similar technologies. This development is a significant step towards sustainable and autonomous energy future.
The Energy Future Lower Austria (EZN), a joint venture between EVN and the country's energy and environmental agency, plays an important role here. It supports municipalities, companies and private individuals in the establishment and administration of energy communities by providing advice from the first idea to implementation. In view of the rising network fees and the falling single -dining fees, these models of local energy supply offer additional economic incentives, which is increasingly popular in all regions of Lower Austria.
