Energy communities in Lower Austria: explosion to 200 active!
Energy communities in Lower Austria: explosion to 200 active!
At the beginning of this year, Lower Austria had only 100 energy communities with 5,000 count points. But now, at the end of 2024, this number has doubled dramatically! The current figures of the EVN speak of 200 active communities and over 10,000 counting points. These energy communities represent a new form of energy supply, which is becoming increasingly interesting, especially in times of rising network fees and falling feed -in tariffs.
high level of self -sufficiency
The energy communities in Lower Austria demonstrate impressive self-sufficiency quotas. According to the Energy Future Lower Austria , some communities even reach a self -supply level of over 90 percent. In Lichtenwörth in the Wiener Neustadt district, a combination of photovoltaic current and biogas plants will achieve an optional wheel of 95 percent. Similar successes can be recorded in Amstetten, where 92 percent self -sufficiency could also be achieved through sustainable energies.
This development is not only a sign of growing awareness of alternative energies, but also a reaction to the uncertain market conditions. The increasing network fees for 2025 and the decreasing feed -in tariffs have sought the energy communities an attractive solution for many. Especially with the support of the Energy Future Lower Austria , a joint venture between EVN and the country's energy and environmental agency, municipalities, companies and private individuals benefit from tailor-made advice and help in the establishment and administration of these communities.
