Energy report 2023: Seitenstetten relies on digital future and sustainability

In the municipality of Seitenstetten, the new energy report was recently presented, an important document that summarizes the continuous efforts to reduce energy consumption in public institutions. This presentation was realized in cooperation with the Environmental Association GDA, an organization that works for environmentally friendly practices and makes a valuable contribution in the region.

Seitenstetten has been intensively dealing with the topic of energy consumption for years. Thanks to its exemplary energy search and status as an E5 community since 2018, the market town is one of the pioneers in the region that are actively striving for sustainability. From 2023 the GDA took responsibility for the creation of the annual energy report in order to explain the results even more expediently.

energy consumption in focus

The presentation of the energy report included incoming discussions about the current consumption of electricity, heat and water. A central concern was to develop concrete measures on how the data collected can be prepared even more precisely in order to further reduce energy consumption. One of the most successful initiatives was the comprehensive changeover of the street lighting to LED technology, which will now be fully completed in 2024. This has already led to a noticeable reduction in the energy requirement and offers a good example of environmentally conscious decisions at the local level.

In order to increase the proportion of renewable energies, new photovoltaic systems were also installed in the municipality. These systems not only contribute to the self -supply of green electricity, but also make a contribution to the energy transition in the region.

Another innovative project in Seitenstetten aims to improve the efficiency of the transmission of energy data. Most electricity consumption data are now digitally available, and it is being used to introduce automatic transmission of the data. This would make the tedious, manual reading of the electricity meters superfluous, which accelerates the reporting and makes it easier to identify high consumption quickly.

These initiatives and measures are not only technological progress, but also show the commitment of the community for a sustainable future. Further details and developments can be found on www.tips.at
