New leader of the Wiener ÖVP: Zierfuß relies on real reforms!

After the recent election debacle, in which the Vienna ÖVP received only 9.65 % of the votes, the party is facing a personnel upheaval. On May 22, 2025, Harald Zierfuß was elected as the new club chairman in the town hall and follows Markus Wölbitsch. Zierfuß (25), who has been sitting in the local council since 2020, was previously education spokesman for the Vienna People's Party. Party leader Markus Figl praised his experience and competence, especially in the field of education. "He will be an important voice for our future work," said Figl.

Zierfuß thanked for the trust of his party colleagues and promised to take on the new task with humility and respect.
