education in the center of the agenda

In view of the challenges that schools experience through Corona, family reunification and war in Europe, Neos demands an active and timely examination of these problems. The progress in the educational landscape requires time and honest commitment. The NEOS calls to continue the successful path with the SPÖ.

In the field of education, the government plans to reform comprehensive reforms. Elementary pedagogy in particular is upgraded with a resource package from 2026. The introduction of a second mandatory kindergarten year as well as language status surveys before school and strengthening the skilled workers-child keys are central measures, as in the program of [school.at] (https://www.schule.at/bildnews/detail/ government program- formation).

For school education, there is a structural reform on the agenda that aims at school autonomy and reduction in bureaucracy. A more flexibility in teaching and strengthening the educational partnership with an obligation to cooperate by the parents is also planned. In addition, a program for school development is introduced and the training of teachers is optimized to make the profession more attractive.

These reforms aim to integrate modern requirements for schools and lessons. Among other things, democracy formation is introduced nationwide as a mandatory subject in the secondary level and daily movement units.

Overall, it can be seen that NEOS is ready with its program and the desired reforms to promote a noticeable upswing in the field of education and beyond.
