After over 50 years: ORF pulls the connector at 1, 2 or 3!
The Austrian Radio (ORF) will stop participating in the popular children's program "1, 2 or 3" after more than 50 years at the end of 2025. This decision concerns co -production with the ZDF, which will no longer be continued at the beginning of the school year 2025/26. The consequences already produced will continue to be broadcast in the program by the end of 2025, as reported.
"1, 2 or 3", which started on ORF in 1977 and was later broadcast on ZDF, is one of the most established children's programs in German -speaking countries. The format has been loved by children for many years and is considered a fixture in the children's program. With the exit of ORF, the ZDF plans to continue the program on its own, but the teams of candidates will only consist of German federal states in the future.
An era comes to an end
The decision of the ORF is an important step in the history of children's television. The withdrawal of Swiss television from the format in 2006 was already a first indication of the challenges with which the production of children's programs is confronted. With "The Mit of Mouse" (since 1971) and "Löwenzahn" (since 1981) the basis for a wide range of knowledge-imposed programs was laid, such as the bpb shown.
Current developments in children's television
The ORF continues to focus on innovative formats. So new stories can be found in the children's program. One example is the adventure trip of cat Mitcho and elephant Sebastian, who find a piece of bottle by Mayor JB of the Sonnenstadt. In it they discover a seed grain that grows into a giant bulb. Professor Glycosis transforms them into a houseboat -like vehicle. Together they start looking for a mysterious island, where they suspect the mayor. The voices of the characters are embodied by Mik Dankou (Sebastian), Xara Eich (Mitcho) and Hans-Jürgen Dittberner (Professor Glycose), as Kids Orf
In today's television world, knowledge programs have become indispensable. Programs such as "Knowledge makes Ah!" Or “Checker Tobi” promote the curiosity of the children and convey knowledge in an entertaining way. The expansion of the broadcast times by kika and the development of new formats show that interest in child -friendly knowledge transfer is unbroken.
The setting of "1, 2 or 3" not only marks a change in program design, but also raises questions about the future of children's television. The spectators can be excited to see how the offer will develop and which new formats can continue the tradition of educational television.
