Medicine delivery in ordination: faster, easier, discreet!
Medicine delivery in ordination: faster, easier, discreet!
Österreich - On May 16, 2025, Edgar Wutscher, Vice President of the Austrian Medical Association, announced that the needs of the patients in health policy must be taken into account more. A central aspect of this realignment is the introduction of voluntary right to medication in the ordination. This step is regarded as an essential building block for patient -friendly care. The Medical Association has started the campaign "Medicine Delivery also at the doctor, at the doctor: patient -friendly, simple and discreet" in order to raise awareness of this important topic.
Media mix of print, online and internal application through ordination jackets is used to comprehensively communicate the campaign. The aim is to make it easier for patients to access their medication: simple, discreet and time -saving. The advantages of this initiative are diverse: in addition to faster medication, doctors who offer diagnosis and therapy from a single source benefit from the reduced effort in the healthcare system, which also reduces environmental impacts by less driven kilometers.
Integration of the primary care centers
Wutscher emphasizes the important role of the primary supply centers (PVZ) in this context. However, these facilities are currently not equipped with medicinal pharmacies, which makes a legal regulation urgently necessary. There are also unclear regulations for the merger of several doctors to form so-called primary care networks (PVN), which already offer existing medicinal pharmacies. Despite the attractive possibilities that PVN represent for rural areas, their use has so far been low.
general practitioners in rural areas do home visits and could not only save ways for their patients through direct medication tax, but also improve access to efficient health care.
The role of primary care
Primary care is the first point of contact for health -related concerns in Austria and takes place in family practices and in primary care units (PVE). Their goal is to promote health, strengthening prevention and qualitative and efficient medical treatment. Well -developed primary care is particularly advantageous for chronically ill people. Multi -professional and interdisciplinary teams work in the PVE to ensure comprehensive treatment.
The core team of the PVE consists of at least two general practitioners and qualified nursing staff. Depending on the needs, other health and social professions can also be consulted, such as psychology or occupational therapy. Advantages for the patients are relieved appointments, shortened waiting times and close -up care with flexible opening times. For the doctors, this means a better work-life balance, less bureaucracy and regular professional exchange.
In recent years, essential reforms to strengthen primary care have been initiated. The 2013 health reform heralded a redesign of the primary care, which was legally underpinned by the primary care law (PrimVG) 2017. The nationwide overall contract for PVE, which was finalized in 2019 between the medical association and social security institution, is another milestone. From 2024, an additional 300 million euros are provided by the federal government annually to advance the expansion of primary care. These new measures and initiatives should ultimately contribute to better health care in Austria.
