Knebl and Scheirl win Klocker Art Prize 2025 - Art without Borders!
Rotenberg 12b, 4700 Eupen, Belgien - Jakob Lena Knebl and Ashley Hans Scheirl were awarded the Klocker Art Prize 2025. This honor is not only a personal recognition, but also associated with a representative purchase for the collection of the Klocker Foundation. The jury justified the decision to award the "open, transdisciplinary art practice", in which the boundaries between different artificial genuses are permeable and deliberately expanded. Knebl and Scheirl have made a name for themselves in international contemporary art and combine various media in their installations, including sculpture, painting, design, photography and film. Her work creates “desires” that address the role of art and design in the design of identity. Both artists work both solo and together.
The common exhibitions, such as the 15th Biennale de Lyon 2019 and the representation of Austria at the 59th Biennale in Venice in 2022, must be particularly noteworthy. The duo is succeeded in deconstruction and reconstructing the duo through their innovative connection between fetishism and humor
