Last weekend, Polish cyclist Katarzyna Niewiadoma experienced a dramatic fall in the prestigious one -day race Strade Bianche in Italy. About 50 kilometers before the finish, the 30-year-old lost control of her bike in a descent and crashed into the guardrail with full force. Despite the violent injuries that she suffered, the Tour-de France winner from 2024 managed to temporarily find calm and report on Instagram, as reported the crown.

Niewiadoma had to give up the race due to her injuries and was immediately treated by a doctor. Fortunately, after a first examination, there was an all -clear: no brüch! In a brave update to Instagram, she told her fans about the large abrasions on her arm, leg and face. In another post from Monday morning, she showed a picture from her hospital bed and commented on her injuries with a touch of humor: "I am disappointed to have missed the podium! But it could be worse, so I am grateful for what I have - in this case pretty strong bones," said Niewiadoma, as well as Eurosport reported.

The fall not only leaves physical traces, but also shows the risks of professional cycling. Niewiadoma once again demonstrated her unshakable fighting spirit and her ability to remain optimistic despite the setbacks.
