GAK winning streak: Hope in the relegation battle of the Bundesliga
In the fight for relegation in the Austrian Bundesliga, both the SCR Altach and the GAK took important steps in October. These two teams look back on different developments. While the SCR Altach, under the direction of coach Fabio Ingolitsch, could hardly have progress with just one point from five games, the Graz footballers with coach Rene Poms managed to increase significantly. Under his direction, the team scored eight points from four games, which secured first place in the table on Sunday and took over the red lantern from Altach.
The GAK was able to recharge his batteries by draw against strong opponents such as Rapid and Salzburg and through the first victory of the season against WSG Tyrol. This self-confidence also became clear last weekend when the team was able to turn a 0-1 deficit in the 2-1 victory against Blau-Weiß Linz and to defend the narrow lead in the outnumber itself.

After the game, coach Rene Poms proudly spoke about the performance of his players: "I am proud that the team implemented it so well. We fought with ten players self -sacrificing, and that's a great signal in the right direction for me." Poms took over the position of the coaching staff a month ago and emphasized that he had taken over an already functioning team. In his own words: "I didn't change much; there were just a few screws that I turned on." He believes that this approach shows its effect and sees the team on the right track, even if he recognizes that there is still a long season ahead of them.
In the coming weeks, two home games are still on the program at the GAK, including encounters against WAC and Hartberg.

The WAC, on the other hand, has caught up again after a small crisis and was able to improve to fourth place with a high -level victory. Coach Dietmar Kühbauer particularly praised the performance of his young players, who contributed to the turn in the second half.
The developments in the Bundesliga clearly show the various ways that teams have taken in the fight for relegation. The GAK is on a positive trend, while Altach urgently has to bring about the turn in order to be able to play in the upper third of the table. The next few weeks will be crucial for both teams in their different efforts.
