Romantic Advent market in St. Margarethen: A Feast of Community

In St. Margarethen, the waiting for the contemplative Christmas time is impressively rewarded: from December 6th to 8th, a romantic advent market takes place here after a long break. Armin Eberhard, the chairman of the cultural community, is enthusiastic: "Thanks to the tireless persistence of Iris Christöfl and a committed group of volunteers, we can finally invite you to Advent in the village again this year."

The opening of the market is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m., followed by daily opening hours from 3 p.m. A varied program will begin at 4 p.m., which will put visitors in a festive mood. The market is located around the newly designed "House of Clubs", which becomes the center of the celebrations.

festive atmosphere and activities

Visitors can look forward to a varied offer. Culinary delights, artistic performances and numerous attractions await guests. Marlies Sabitzer is responsible for the design of the cultural program, who has put together a colorful mix of contributions from hobby artists and the talented children in the region.

Armin Eberhard emphasizes how important the community is for the place. "This advent market is launched with a lot of passion by numerous volunteers and spacious sponsors. And the best thing: All artists appear for free! Let yourself be carried away by the festive mood."

A highlight of the market is the Christmas exhibition, curated by Kathrin Scharf, which brings 16 talented exhibitors from the surrounding towns to St. Margarethen. The Drexler Rudolf Seifried will present his manual skills live and the Alisch family ensures creative experiences, while they pull beautiful candles together with their children and offer them with delicious bee honey. The exhibition will show many festive treasures, including Christmas arrangements, felted slippers, handmade Christmas cribs and much more.

versatile program

The event calendar promises a lot of joy for the whole family:

  • Friday, December 6th:

The local clubs will also present themselves with their specialties, including the fire brigade with cheese rainers, the parents' association with cotton candy and the theater group with delicacies.

st. Margarethen not only offers an Advent market, but an experience for all the senses. A pre -Christmas festival in which the visitors can enjoy the mood and anticipation for Christmas to the fullest. This event is therefore a must for everyone who loves something special and at the same time want to support the local community.

Another focus is on the newly established Advent fairy tale path, which will lead visitors through poetic stories and magical moments. This makes St. Margarethen a true Advent goal in the Lavanttal, not only for the locals, but also for guests from further.
