Shock for the housing cooperative: suspicion of fraud against employees
The fraud around the housing cooperative “My Home” takes a new turn. In a crisis meeting that took place yesterday evening, the immediate release of four to six employees was decided. This was excluded exclusively of the Kleine Zeitung . The chairman of the supervisory board Günther Goach and the CEO Helmut Kusterik expressed that there are suspected moments against the employees concerned based on the first investigations by the police. In the meantime, the presumption of innocence applies.
A serious accusation is in the room: The cooperative has made payments for washing and drying devices to a Villach entrepreneur, but never received them. According to the current status, over 150 devices have not been delivered in the current year alone, which previously led to an estimated damage of 450,000 euros. The assumption is that the employees could be involved in this fraud. In view of the severity of the case, the cooperative decided not only to act rigorously, but also to take clear steps to clarify.
Investigations in the course
The events have already triggered concerns with both the employees concerned and the members of the cooperative. The current exemption is initially a precaution, while all the signs indicate that the internal processes must be subjected to a comprehensive examination. Other employees of the cooperative could also be involved in the investigation if further suspicious activities should come to light.
The committee has assured that the situation is taken seriously and that both the employees and the cooperative will ultimately experience the truth. "We work closely with the police to clarify all the facts," continued Kusterik. The presumption of innocence remains for the partially exempted employees during the entire investigation, which is an important basis in the legal process.
The housing cooperative "My Home" is under pressure not only to clarify the financial extent of the fraud, but also to regain the trust of the members and the public. The first steps in this direction could be further internal studies, create transparency and inform the public about the current events.
In addition, the results of the police investigation could also have an impact on the future business processes of the cooperative. The coming days will be crucial to see how the situation develops and what measures may need to be taken.
