Fire in Spittal: Fast use saves mother and child

Fire in Spittal: Fast use saves mother and child
A tragic incident occurred on Friday in Upper Carinthia when an eight -year -old boy triggered a fire in a single -family house due to unhappy circumstances. Around 1 p.m., the boy entered a former living space of the house in the Spittal district on the Drau, which has now been used as a storage room. He put a steam sterilizer in a socket, which led to a serious misfortune.
The steam sterilizer fell out of his hand and broke on the wooden floor, whereupon a fire sparked. This quickly spread to furniture loaded with plastic and boxes and on a foot part of a double bed that was in the room.
alleged breaking out of the fire
The Situation was dramatic when the 39 -year -old mother noticed the fire. It had attracted its attention through the noises caused by the development of the fire. Her son was panicked, but the mother initially tried in vain to extinguish with water. After she learned that her child was safe, she also left the house.
The alarmed fire brigade was quickly on hand and was able to quickly control the flames in the affected room. For smoke removal, the emergency services used compressed fans, which contributed to the faster restoration of security. Fortunately, both the mother and the boy remained unharmed. An investigation was carried out on site by the rescue workers who confirmed the child and his mother's well -being.
A total of seven vehicles from the volunteer fire brigades from Spittal/Drau, Baldramsdorf and Lendorf were deployed with 55 emergency services to cope with the dimensions of the fire and prevent further damage. In addition to the fire brigade, the police and the Red Cross were also on site and supported the necessary measures. Such operations are not only important for fire fighting, but also for the safety of all those affected, as was impressively demonstrated in this case.
