Alpine road from November 15th: Parking fees and bus as alternatives

visitors to the nature park who travel by their own car should be careful on Friday, November 15th. On this day, the Alpine road is to be driven on tolls again, but for the parking spaces between the Alpine Garden (PP6) and the Rosratt (P11) parking fees must be paid.

The Nature Park officer Vice Mayor Sarah Katholnig (SPÖ) explains that the parking fees were recognized as an effective measure to control private transport. "We want to prevent the sensitive nature park and counteract a traffic chaos, especially on popular winter days and weekends," says Katholnig.

Details of the parking fees

The obligation to pay fees applies daily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., during the toll -free time until April 15th. The parking costs are 90 cents for 30 minutes, while the maximum daily amount is nine euros. Payment can be made at the machine either in cash or with a bank or credit card. Handype brands are not possible because the reception on the Dobratsch is not secured everywhere.

There is an alternative for environmentally conscious guests: the nature park winter bus. According to Katholnig, the ticket for the return trip only costs three euros from the main train station, and children and young people up to 18 years drive free of charge. An evening bus will also be in winter. Further information on the timetable is available. A simple access to nature and the preservation of the environment are in the foreground.
