New kindergarten in the Villach technology park: a center for discovery and education
The city of Villach ceremoniously inaugurated a new kindergarten in the TPV Technology Park on October 16, 2024, which offers space for around 90 children. This facility is aimed particularly at children aged three to six years, with younger children being accepted. The innovative design of the kindergarten puts a special focus on experimental learning.
Special highlight of the new kindergarten is the mini-education-Lab, where the little researchers can live out their curiosity in two laboratory rooms on 112 square meters. Over 550 square meters of outdoors have also been created for exploration and for experiments. The place is equipped with various materials that playfully convey knowledge of technology, computer science and mathematics to the children. "It is important to me that little girls develop an interest in technology and research," says Vice Mayor Sarah Katholnig (SPÖ).
sustainable construction and investments
The investments for the new kindergarten amount to over 6.5 million euros and are covered by various institutions such as the city of Villach, the Carinthian Business Development Fund, the Federal Office and the State of Carinthia. Mayor Günther Albel (SPÖ) emphasizes the importance of the compatibility of family and work: "We ensure that all working parents who need an all -day care place also get a place for their child."
The building itself was built sustainably. It is heated with earth probes and is also equipped with modern mechanical air ventilation and a photovoltaic system. The implementation of the project was headed by Thomas Lorenz as the general planner architect and the Bramberger Architects, while WRS Energie- und Baumanagement GmbH was responsible for construction.
"Here is a future-oriented area of learning and living for the smallest of our society," said Governor Peter Kaiser (SPÖ) for the opening of the kindergarten. In addition, State Councilor Daniel Fellner (SPÖ) emphasized that there is a "massive change in relation to childcare", which is promoted with this new kindergarten.
special learning opportunities for the children
The kindergarten in the TPV Technology Park is not only a place of care, but also a room in which children are promoted by targeted educational measures. The combination of indoor and outdoor activities offers children the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of science. There is a lot of emphasis that learning takes place in a stimulating and playful environment.
With this new institution, not only the number of childcare places for children in Villach is increased, but also expanded the educational offer. The focus is on promoting teamwork, creativity and critical thinking - important skills for today's children. The opening of the kindergarten was accompanied by numerous guests, including politicians and educational experts who underlined the positive development in childcare.
The interest in the new educational institution is already great, and those responsible are confident that the kindergarten will be a popular place for families in Villach. Further information and insights into kindergarten operations will be expected in the future to further familiarize the innovative concept.
