Health, movement and community: Taekwon-Do for all ages in Feldkirchen

in Industriestrasse 20, exactly opposite the Hagebau-Egger, is the Taekwon-Do-Center, a popular place for fans of the Korean martial arts Taekwondo. There is great emphasis on the promotion of body and mind. "At the moment we have around 40 members in all age groups, from child to seniors," reports Klaus Hinteregger, who heads the center.

Taekwondo is more than just a sport; It is a multifaceted martial art that is characterized by discipline and a deep connection to the Asian philosophy. "In Taekwondo we learn to experience our own limits and at the same time appreciate the beauty of the movement in order to reconcile body and mind," explains Hinteregger, who wears the fourth Dan, which symbolizes its high qualifications.

special training philosophy

The Korean name "Dojang" literally means "practice room" and shows the seriousness of the training. As in every sport, there are fixed rules that all students have to comply with: eating, drinking and wearing shoes are taboo in the Dojang. Respectful behavior is of the greatest importance. "We train together and treat all participants equally. A principle in Taekwondo is: 'The stronger helps to the weaker'," emphasizes Hinteregger.

Interested parties can start training at any time. Training from Monday to Friday is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., while special training is offered for children from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The trial training is free. Unlike many other clubs, the Taekwondo Center in Feldkirchen does not take part in competitions or competitions. "Our motto is: move - be healthy - strong - happy - satisfied," summarizes Hinteregger.
