Mag. Günther Fian: A life for commercial law and the Hermagor region
A remarkable phase of life is coming to an end: Mag. Günther Fian, the estimated trade officer of the Hermagor district administration, will retire at the end of November. After over three decades on duty and almost 22 years in this important position, his departure will certainly leave a large gap.
The 64-year-old Fian let through on the last working day in a conversation with the Gailtal Journal that he is proud of his career. He has been working in the state service since 1991 and has achieved a lot during this time. From the beginning in Wolfsberg to his return to the home district of Spittal an der Drau to the appeal to the BH Hermagor, he has always tried to find a fair balance between the various interests. "I have always taken care of having respectful and honest conversations with everyone involved," he said. This is not only a sign of his integrity, but also a confirmation of his success in office.
success in the field of security
Another important aspect of its service is the tasks in the field of security and disaster protection. Mag. Fian played a key role here, especially during increasing natural disasters such as floods and storms. "In such situations you have to stay calm and make quick decisions at the same time," he says. He described the cooperation with the blue light organizations in the district as exemplary. This shows that a strong network is essential in times of crisis.
He is particularly honored by BH Mag. Dr. Heinz Pansi , who emphasizes how Fian was always careful to prove both professionalism and loyalty. "His motto was lived consensus," said Pansi, who assesses Fian's work as successful and reliable. This reflects in high respect, which is shown to him by both colleagues and regional entrepreneurs.
a fulfilled retirement in home
For Fian, with his retirement there are no quiet days for Fian. He is looking forward to spending more time with his family. Four generations already live under one roof in Oberdorf am Weißensee. His daughter Angela, together with his wife Monika, leads the popular "Moni’s Eck" restaurant. His son Johannes causes fresh creative impulses in Graz in an architecture firm, while daughter Lisa works in the Diakonie in Klagenfurt. "I don't see boredom to come," he says with a smile and emphasizes that as a caring grandpa, he now wants to spend time with his grandchildren.
The quiet lifestyle on Weißensee becomes a valuable gift for him, which he can enjoy in his new phase of life. Mag. Günther Fian not only leaves a job, but also a philosophy of life based on consensus and cooperation. The Hermagor region can be proud of the legacy he leaves and look back on the positive development that he has significantly influenced.
