A memorable day for Austrian ski sports! In the Åre slalom, the Austrians celebrated a surprising double victory. The 29-year-old Katharina troop from Carinthia fought her first World Cup victory in difficult conditions and snowfall and overtook five competitors in the final round. She triumphed with just five hundredths of a second from her teammate Katharina Liensberger, who took second place. This impressive performance makes the hearts of Austrian fans beat faster, while the half-time leader Mikaela Shiffrin had to do third place (+0.19) and must therefore do without her 101st World Cup victory, as Laola1 reports.

The results show that Katharina Huber and Katharina Gallhuber advanced to places 17 and 18 in the final. Other Austrian skiers could not qualify for the second round. Swiss Skiers Struggle

Despite the strong performance from Austria, the Swiss remained behind the expectations. Wendy Holdener, the best of the Swiss Eidenges, only reached fifth place and the hopes for a podium initially rested on Mélanie Meillard, who was in fourth place in the first round. Tragically, however, she left her second run, which increased the disappointment in the Swiss team.

for Camille Rast, the setback means that she has to give everything in the last competition to reduce the gap to Ljutic and to secure the winnings of the crystal globe. The dramatic head-to-head race continues, while the athletes are preparing for the last chance to complete the season with a spectacular finish.
