Sirnitz women's football: successful restart and autumn championship title

The women's soccer team of the SGA Sirnitz was able to see impressive success in their first season after the new was founded. This restart, which took place in March 2023, led the team directly to the small field championship, where they won the autumn championship title.

The history of the Sirnitz women goes back to 2006 when a team of their own was launched. After the dissolution of the syndicate with Oberglan, those responsible decided to re -found the team. Under the direction of the experienced coach Benjamin Katholnig and Marco Huber, the team quickly develops while playing in the Women's sub -League small field championship.

Before the start of the season, the squad was still small and only included nine players. However, the training units in Steuerberg quickly led to an increase in the number of members, so that 16 players were ready to compete in May. In the first game of the season they were able to defeat SV Gurnitz 1-0, and in the following games there was also a positive development.

Despite a defeat against Ledenitzen, which went out 1: 5, the team showed extraordinary fighting spirit. The surprising victory against Austria Klagenfurt was particularly remarkable 1-0. From a total of nine games, the Sirnitz women were able to get eight victories and 24 points, which made them the autumn champion.

The successful course of the autumn championship gives the team a lot of motivation for the coming time. During the winter break you will carry out indoor training and an indoor tournament in January. A training camp in Fürstenfeld is also planned in March before the championship begins again at the end of March.
