New blue operational uniforms for Feldkirchen fire brigade: one step forward
The Carinthian fire brigades are faced with an exciting change: Soon you can look forward to new blue operational uniforms. This decision to convert from traditional green clothing to a modern blue design was made by state fire brigade commander Rudolf Robin and state fire brigade officer Daniel Fellner. The state of Carinthia supports this important initiative by providing a funding pot of 2,000,000 euros. The aim is not to overload the budget of the municipalities, which is why a third -party financing of the total costs of the new operating equipment is planned.
The new KS-03 operational uniform, consisting of jacket and pants, is offered at a price of around 400 euros per set. District fire department commander Ludwig Konrad is pleased about this development, which has been the first fundamental change in fire brigade clothing since 1979. A third of the costs are borne by the state of Carinthia, another third by the Carinthian State Fire Brigade Association, while the remaining costs have to be borne by the municipalities. This is to ensure that each fire brigade is uniformed and gorgeous.
financial burden on the municipalities
The amount adds up to around 140,000 euros in view of around 1,050 firefighters in the district if everyone would receive the new uniforms immediately. Konrad reports that in Feldkirchen around 80 comrades should be equipped with the new uniforms in the first step, which means additional costs of around 10,600 euros for the municipality. Mayor Martin Treffner is optimistic, but emphasizes the need to carefully plan due to the tense budget.
There are a total of eight fire departments in Feldkirchen, all of which are to be supported. Treffner is full of recognition for the work of the volunteer firefighters, but warns for caution in budget planning. It is not possible to buy new uniforms immediately for all comrades, which is why around ten new uniforms are to be purchased per weir in a kind of transition phase. The idea is to limit the number of new uniforms to around 80 and ensure that the appearance of the comrades remains uniform, which takes into account their important work.
This change not only reflects the topicality and relevance of the uniforms, but also the respect and appreciation for the fire brigade, which plays an essential role in the community. The conversations about the practical implementation are already underway, and while the financial challenges are in the room, the hope that the conversion of the uniforms will give both the comrades and the entire fire brigade an appealing and modern appearance.
