Dramatic roadblocks to the Dolomite Cycling tour - that's the timetables!

Plöckenpass und Lesachtal, Kärnten, Österreich - On June 8, 2025, the Carinthia region will again become the scene of the popular Dolomitenrundfahrt and the extreme competition of the Supergirodolomiti. Organized by the cross-country and bike club Lienzer Dolomites, hundreds of cycling enthusiasts gather from near and far to take part in this traditional event. However, for residents and road users, this entails some significant traffic disruptions.

The routes in the Plöckenpass and Lesachtal are particularly affected, where temporary roadblocks and attitudes are waiting for the participants and the surrounding population. The traffic disruptions will be noticeable in Lienz from 6:20 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. In these time windows there are temporary transportation at the Amlacher crossing and on Drautalstrasse (B 100). In addition, further restrictions are expected from 12:20 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Drautalstraße/B 100:
    • from the Kärntner national border to Oberdrauburg: 06:40 to 7:15 a.m. and 09:40 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
  • Plöckenpass Straße/B 110:
    • between Oberdrauburg and Kötschach-Mauthen: 06:40 to 8:00 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
    • From Kötschach-Mauthen to the border crossing Plöckenpass: 07:15 to 1:00 p.m..
  • Gailtalstrasse/B 111:
    • between Kötschach-Mauthen and the state border undertilliach/Wacht: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m..

Information for road users

The current traffic information can be called up via the transport information center of the Tyrol state traffic department: (0) 59133/70/4444. On these days the streets on which the event takes place are the racing cyclist: reserved inside. This ensures that the participants have the best conditions for their race.

In addition to the closures due to the bike race, there is another challenge in the region. The Refurbishment of the Steinschlag-Galerie "Magniseng" on Plöckenpass (B 110) is currently being carried out from September 26 to November 2023. This work could also influence the traffic situation and lead to further locks for an hour.

With the upcoming cycling events, the traffic situation in the vicinity of the Plöckenpass and Lesachtal is also increasingly observed. All road users are asked to adjust to the changes in good time and to support the event.
