Change in judicial professions: Academization for a strong future!

On May 22, 2025, the Göd judicial union and the statutory staff representation brought a decisive application to academize diploma rights: inside and leading judicial managers: inside. The aim of this project is to increase the attractiveness of the professions in the judicial department and to adapt to the requirements of a modern, digitized judiciary. Werner Gschwandtner, chairman of the judicial union, underlines the urgent need to increase the qualification in view of the increasing digitization and complexity of legal tasks.

A planned six -semester bachelor's degree for diploma rights nurse: Inside and leading judicial staff with a focus on "New Public Management" should come into force in 2026. This dual course of study combines theoretical training at a university of applied sciences with practical training sections. Approval for the diploma examination takes place after successful evidence of practical experiences, while sub -exams and bachelor theses are necessary in order to achieve the conclusion. To support part -time learning, distance learning elements are also planned.

In view of the demographic change and the challenges of digitization, legal training requires comprehensive reforms. The increasing pressure to excretion among professionalists: Inside and the simultaneous lack of young people, the right access has a negative impact on the right for the population. Many new students tend to choose Bachelor's courses with legal covers, which reduces the attractiveness of fully legal training and leads to high demolition quotas.

The need to revise legal training also includes the critical use of data, artificial intelligence and dealing with discrimination risks. The integration of legal tech applications into legal training is considered essential to ensure the competitiveness of the German legal location. The participants of the Federal Lawyers' Chamber (BRAK), the Federal Association of Legal Studies (BRF) and other organizations are calling to address these challenges in a contemporary manner.

Another important aspect is the challenges regarding diversity in legal training. The underrepresentation of various groups and diversity features can endanger the social acceptance of the rule of law. Therefore, it is required to address and combat structural discrimination in legal training.

In order to meet the challenges in legal training, the associations appeal to the federal government to develop solutions that are not only effective, but also in coordination with the interests. The adaptation to the requirements of the 21st century is essential for the future of the law in Germany.

In summary, the application for the academization of the judicial professions pursues the creation of new career paths and the improvement of professional conditions for employees in the judicial area. The Göd judicial union demands rapid negotiations with the responsible decision-makers in order to sustainably upgrade the judicial professions and to make it sustainable.
