Matrei, Österreich - On June 27, 2025, the special exhibition "Isel - Watercolors and Economics" by the artist Hannelore Nenning opened in the Matreier National Parkhaus. This exhibition is part of the "Year of the Isel", which was proclaimed by the Tyrol of the State Environment. The exhibition offers both a natural history and an artistic view of the Isel and its surroundings. Numerous guests at the opening, including National Park Director Hermann Stotter and the Tyrolean State Councilor René Zumtobel, paid tribute to Nenning's commitment to nature and environmental protection, which she conveys expressively through her art.
Hannelore Nenning has been awarded many times for her work, including the Tyrolean environmental award and international watercolor prices. Their works address the threats of flowing water, especially by reservoirs and power plants, and show an impressive variety of landscapes and ecological aspects that shape Isel.
variety of the Isel and its meaning
The Isel, which is considered an important glacier flow of East Tyrol, stands for untouched nature and clear water. These aspects are dealt with comprehensively in the exhibition, which not only shows the beauty of the river from the umbalke to the umbalke to the mouth in Lienz, but also illuminates the relationship between man and river. The focus of the presentation is flood events from the 1960s as well as current discussions about energy generation and nature conservation. The natural history in the exhibition illustrates the exceptionally rich flora and fauna on the Isel, including the endangered German tamariske. As reported [tt] (https://www.tt.com/artikel/30911486/im-jahr-der-isel-laedt-zur-discovering trip-on-dem-glacier river), the Isel has a central importance as a recreation location and leisure paradise in the region.
The two -part exhibition not only includes Nenning’s artistic work, but also an extensive natural view that addresses the special features of the glacier river. The first part deals with the natural, sporting and river -based peculiarities that are important for tourism and the local economy. Aspects such as the Iseltrail and the expansions and troting pools are also taken into account here.
environmental awareness and sustainable development
The commitment to an environmentally friendly handling of natural resources is a central concern that also supports the Federal Environment Agency. Modern nature conservation requires a social context to preserve protected areas. The exhibition "Isel - Watercolors and Echarge" contributes to this awareness by emphasizing the meaning of the isel for both humans and nature. The underlying idea of promoting sustainable management in protected areas could also be important for the East Tyrol region.
The Tyrolean environmental recruitment accompanies the year of the Isel with other program items published on its website www.dieisel.at. This initiative is intended to further strengthen awareness of the value and beauty of the Isel and its ecosystems.
