Iran ignores nuclear supervision: new laws heat nuclear conflict!

Wien, Österreich - The Iranian Parliament has passed a new law that enables the suspension of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA). According to the NOURNEWS news agency, this law is understood as a response to the increasing tensions in connection with the Iranian nuclear program. However, the National Security Council still has to decide on the law what remains uncertain .

The IAEA accuses Iran of violating the nuclear weapon blocking contract with its nuclear program, which makes the international community on alert. Iran, on the other hand, denies all the allegations of striving for nuclear weapons and accuses the IAEA not to fulfill its obligations and rather act as a political instrument .

a burdened relationship with the IAEA

The IAEA, which was founded in 1957, has the main task of promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy and the guarantee of nuclear security worldwide. This organization has currently committed 182 countries, including Iran, to comply with "SafeGuards" agreements to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons .

In recent years, however, Iran has increasingly violated these agreements. The IAEA confirmed that the country increasingly enriches its nuclear systems, which has created worrying implications. Rafael Grossi, the General Director of the IAEA, commented concerns about the lack of cooperation between Iran, in particular regarding the clarification of open questions about his nuclear program .

The military attacks of Israel and the United States on Iranian nuclear facilities have further difficult, since numerous plants have been severely damaged or destroyed in the past two weeks. Despite these attacks, the IAEA emphasized that there was no increased radiation, but the security situation remains tense .

The risk of nuclear armament

Since the USA withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in May 2018, Iran continuously worked on its nuclear program and has also exceeded existing limits. This has brought the country closer to the ability to develop nuclear weapons. Iran can now produce uranium for several nuclear weapons in less than two weeks, which further heats up the global security concerns .

The IAEA reports of a troubling increase in enriched uranium, which is now over 400 kilograms, which triggers serious concern. In addition, Iran has started discussions about a possible cancellation of the FATWA against nuclear weapons, the security situation should change .

The role of the IAEA remains crucial for the maintenance of peace and the prevention of nuclear armament, especially in a region that is already shaped by tensions and conflicts .
