Integration expert warns: Austria stands in front of parallel societies!

AHMAD MANSOUR, psychologist and integration expert, urged the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF) in Graz to the formation of Muslim parallel societies that are already reality in France. Mansour estimates that Austria and Germany have “four to eight years” to effectively control migration and advocates concrete measures against the impending social divisions.

He describes dark scenarios in which parallel worlds are created in which girls cannot take to the streets without a headscarf and political Islam has a significant influence on society. In order to avoid French grievances, especially in the Banlieues, Mansour demands consistent little work in integration.

necessary measures for integration

The measures proposed by Mansour include clear rules of conduct for migrants as well as a better mix of residential areas and school classes. He emphasizes how important it is that the majority society demands an "inner decision" for integration from the migrants, including the acceptance of equality and sexual self -determination. This is important to counter deep trenches between locals and migrants.

Mansour names Denmark as an example where government measures are already being implemented to combat parallel societies. The Danish government has set itself the goal of being a country without parallel societies by 2030. The radical conversion of settlements such as Mjölnerparken, where over 80% of the residents had recently had a migration background, serves this initiative. Over 10,000 people are relocated to achieve a better social mix.

Nevertheless, there is also criticism of such measures. Residents like Majken skins have taken legal action against the ghetto plan. Her complaint, which is to be decided by the European Court of Justice in 2023, could have a serious impact on Denmark's integration policy.

crime and their relationships

The discussion about parallel societies and integration is closely linked to topics of crime. A small part of the migrants are punishable, but overall they are overrepresented in crime statistics. Statistics show that adult migrants with access to the labor market rarely become delinquent. Violent offenses among refugees are often the result of conflicts in shared accommodation, as the Federal Center for Political Education has observed.

Crime among young people from migrant families is back, which shows that a positive development is possible when integration is promoted. Inadequate integration can, however, lead to an increase in crime, which underlines the importance of education and social participation. Access to integration and avoiding social exclusion are crucial to prevent negative development tendencies.

Overall, it becomes clear that the challenges of integration must be taken seriously at both national and international level. Ahmad Mansour and other experts are calling for a broader social debate and increased efforts to ensure a harmonious coexistence.
