Innovative care outpatient clinic in Friesach: Future of patient care!

In the Austrian healthcare system, the German Order Hospital in Friesach sets innovative standards with its newly launched nursing outpatient clinic. Since May 2024, almost 300 patients who need advice and therapies after hospital stays have been looked after there. According to nursing director Petra Preser, the close interlinking with other hospital areas - such as therapists and social workers - is provided by optimal aftercare. The patients benefit from the comprehensive coordination that begins before the operation. In this way, you and your relatives are trained in dealing with crutches and other remedies. "This is really a very important part of care, advice, schools and guide," emphasizes Heide Tamm, the head of the nursing outpatient clinic.

The initiative was designed in response to the challenges that patients face out of the hospital when dismissing. Managing Director Ernst Benischke explains that the hospital acts as a central health hub in the north of Carinthia and reacted to the positive feedback from the region: "Something has been started here." With the help of this new care outpatient clinic, not only waiting times are reduced, but also the patients and their relatives are optimally prepared for the entire treatment process.
