Hypomeeting in Götzis: 50 years of records and friendships!
The Hypomeeting in the Götzner Möslestadion celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and moves athletes from 67 nations to the Previous region of Vorarlberg. According to Vol.at so far almost 1,000 athletes have taken part in this annual event, in which no less than four world records were set up. With a total number of visitors of 350,000, the meeting of the all-around elite has become one of the most important athletics events in the international calendar.
The event usually takes place in May, especially on May 31 and June 1st, and promises a high visit rate again this year, since the special atmosphere always attracts both athletes and spectators. This is also confirmed by Vorarlberg.travel , which emphasizes the long-term intercultural relationships and friendships between the participants and the hosts.
commitment and voluntary work
A key to this success are the more than 400 volunteers who are significantly involved in the organization of the event. The responsibilities of the volunteers are diverse and make a decisive contribution to the success of the event. aktathletik-berlin.de describes how volunteers take on committed tasks in small teams: from building up the competition places to the support of the results lists.
The organizers report unique experiences that go beyond sporting competition. Roman Peter, a long -standing placekeeper of the hypometing, shared, for example, anecdotes from five decades, including some amusing stories, such as that of an athlete who enjoyed a lot of ice cream. These personal stories give the event a special charm.
The anniversary and its celebrations
The 50th anniversary was celebrated with a film presentation in the Kulturbühne Ambach in Götzis. Wolfgang Berchtold, who accompanied the event as a stadium spokesman for a long time, presented an interview film in which founding members and organizers have their say. The memories of the first few years are characterized by challenges, such as time problems, which were bridged with creative solutions at the time, in order to make the competition take place even when there is darkness.
In the past few decades, the hypometing has developed into an institution that not only attracts athletes, but has also integrated the local community. The cohesion and voluntary commitment of the participants contribute to an unmistakable atmosphere that makes the event an unforgettable experience for everyone.
