Historical avenue in Frankenmarkt: A green treasure awakens again!
The historical avenue near Mühlberg in the municipality of Frankenmarkt is brought back to life thanks to the dedicated pensioner Gertrude Pillichhammer. After the once important avenue, which was mentioned in historical records in 1521, had disappeared through land consolidation measures in the 1960s, Pillichhammer had 15 domestic tree species along the old path. This avenue previously combined Mühlberg with Reichsstraße and was a central development path for the region. The original path, which can still be celebrated well today, led from the "Mulperger Veld" via the Max’n Holz to Mühlberg and further over the railway to Höhenwart. In the present day, the economic path is enriched by an impressive old maple group, which is now supplemented by the newly planted Allen trees.
