Big celebration: 30 years When the music plays in Bad Kleinkirchheim!

Bad Kleinkirchheim, Österreich - On June 14, 2025, the 30th edition of the popular summer open air "When the Musi plays" takes place in Bad Kleinkirchheim. This event is considered the largest folk music spectacle in the Alpine region and is organized by the organizers ORF and Adlmann Promotion. The line-up includes numerous renowned artists, including Hansi Hinterseer, the Nockis, the young Zillertaler and many more who will invite the audience to celebrate. The event takes place against the picturesque backdrop of the Carinthian Nockberge, which also enriches the atmosphere and attracts visitors from the entire region.

A highlight of the event is the newly introduced “Musi Party”, which will take place on June 11, 2025 with DJ Daniel Düsenflitz. The all-inclusive concept offers guests a package from 89 euros, which includes food and drinks. This innovation could further increase the number of visitors and thus exceed the previous record of over 10,000 annual guests, whereby around 6,000 people are expected on Saturday evening alone.

Carinthian milk-music hiking week

In addition to the musical program, the Carinthian Milk Musi Wander Week will take place from June 8th to 15th, 2025. Guided hikes are offered here, in which the participants have the opportunity to explore hiking trails marked over 1,000 kilometers. Participation in the hikes is free of charge, but mountain railway tickets have to be purchased to enable the driveway. This event not only promotes regional culture, but also tourism, which leads to an economic ranking of around 2.2 million euros for the region.

folk culture and social responsibility

Another aspect that plays a role in the events is to promote the Carinthian folk culture that connects people and consolidates regional roots. The events also include high -quality choir concerts, in which donations are collected for local aid associations, including "Light into the dark" and "Carinthian in Need". This ensures that every donated euro benefits from Carinthia.

The Summer Open Air Show is also transmitted live to ORF 2, MDR and via Internet streaming, so that a wider audience can also be reached. A winter open-air event is planned for 23 and 24 January 2026, and in March 2026 the music sun skys are to take place with live music and regional enjoyment.

Overall, the event not only promises musical enjoyment, but also a perfect opportunity to enjoy Carinthia and at the same time make a contribution to the local community.
