Grand -based Russian drone attack meets Kyiv: dead and injured!
In the night of Sunday, the greatest Russian drone attack has occurred in Ukraine since the beginning of the war in February 2022. According to the Ukrainian air forces, Russia used 273 drones. This attack exceeded the previous largest drone attack, which took place on February 23 with 267 drones. A woman died in the Ukrainian capital Kiev, while three other people, including a four -year -old child, were injured. Despite the massive attack, 88 drones were shot down and 128 lost without negative consequences for the Ukrainian side. However, there were no concrete information on damage or hits from the Ukrainian air defense.
The areas concerned include Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk. In these regions, the civilian population and the infrastructure suffer from the constant attacks. In the political situation, Russia reported the Bahatyr settlement in the Donetsk region. During a recent exchange between the warring parties in Istanbul, topics such as a prisoner exchange and negotiations on a possible ceasefire were discussed, while Russia rejected a ceasefire until a fundamental settlement. US President Donald Trump plans a phone call with Vladimir Putin on Monday to promote the talks, which is important in view of the current developments.
drones in war tactics
drones play a central role in the ongoing conflict and are of growing importance in both Russia and Ukraine. In the past few months, Ukraine has experienced a rapid innovation cycle on drones and has even developed a marine roar that shot two Russian helicopters. According to a military expert, Ukraine has achieved high shooting rates of over 90% in Russian Shahed drones. The Ukrainian armed forces have trained special soldiers who can intercept FPV drones (First Person View) with shotguns to effectively counter the threats from the Kamikaze drones.
In order to counter the Russian attacks, Ukraine has also developed an acoustic detection system that enables attacking drones early. In addition, interference techniques have been improved against enemy radio connections. Meanwhile, the Russian armed forces are experimenting with new technologies, including Starlink antennas and SIM cards to control their drones to increase the resistance
Military developments not only show the growing dependence on drone technology, but also the constant challenges that Ukraine faces. These innovation spurts could possibly help to alleviate the recruitment problems of Ukraine, which are reinforced by the continuing war.
