FPÖ demands U-Committee: ÖVP with suspected abuse of power!
Krems, Österreich - The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) plans to establish an investigation committee in order to suspect a suspected impact on party-politically motivated influence by representatives of the ÖVP in the Interior and Justice Ministry and in the Federal Chancellery. According to [Kleine Zeitung] (https://www.kleinezeitung.at/service/newsticker/innengolitung/19704921/fpoe-ortet-in-u-sprag-application, the examination period extends from January 7, 2020 to 2023 and focuses on several central topics.
The focus of the investigative efforts is the investigation by the public prosecutor's office in Krems and the State Criminal Police Office in Lower Austria on the cause of the death of the former judiciary Christian Pilnacek. The party suspects abuse of office, manipulation of evidence and falsification of results of the investigation. This is confirmed by FPÖ General Secretary Christian Hafenecker, who also indicates the non-unavoidable and party political influence on the execution of the security police in a press conference, especially in the context of critical civil movements during the Corona pandemic.
FPÖ demands urgent request
The FPÖ sees "all the prerequisites for the establishment of the U-Committee" and calls for an urgent request to the new Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker (ÖVP) with the title: "ÖVP-power abuse: state or party, what is the top priority for you, Mr. Chancellor?". Hafenecker added that the ÖVP should prepare for the upcoming developments over the weekend. Another investigation complex will affect the role of the Ministry of the Interior during the corona measures, where the FPÖ criticizes that the police have planned and systematically intimidated.
as [Nachrichten.at] (https://www.nachrichten.at/politik/inpolpolitik/werd-zich-ungemuetlich-fpoe-Will-t-power-power-illuminated ;art385,4051994), the FPÖ has already completed the final request for the establishment of the committee of inquiry, but the publication of which has not been planned for the time being. The FPÖ aims to examine the measures during Corona pandemic and raises serious allegations against the ÖVP.
rights and obligations of the committee of inquiry
Examination committees have the option of requesting files and documents from all federal and state organs, as explained in the guidelines for political control by [parlament.gv.at] (https://www.parlament.gv.at/ver standing/kolitic-konroll/s- These organs are obliged to issue the requested documents. The committee can charge and question information persons and has the authority to impose sanctions against information persons who refuse to appear.
The first round of the information persons will include Interior Minister Gerhard Karner and Chancellor Christian Stocker, with the Chancellor's possible representation of the Chancellor Alexander Pröll. The effects and findings of these hearings could have far -reaching consequences for the ÖVP and its management in sensitive policy areas.
The FPÖ uses its minority law to establish the committee of inquiry, which means that it does not need to support another faction. The coming days promise to become politically explosive, and the opposition will continue to follow the developments.
