Formula 1 2026: Madrid new in the calendar - what can we expect?
Madrid, Spanien - Formula 1 presented the racing calendar for the 2026 season, which includes a total of 24 racing events. The start will take place from March 6th to 8th in Melbourne, Australia, and will visit numerous international cities by the end of the year. important changes and new developments
The drivers and teams have to adjust to some significant changes. The Monaco Grand Prix 2026 will take place for the first time on the first weekend in Juni instead of the traditional appointment at the end of May. The Canada Grand Prix, on the other hand, will be relocated from June to May to better group the event.
From 2026, Formula 1 will also begin to have individual races rotated, so that not every Grand Prix is aligned annually. Zandvoort will be one of the routes that will go through replaced events and will also play a sprint for the first time in 2026. In contrast, the route in Imola will only be contractually secured by 2025 and a return in 2026 is not guaranteed.
The season finale will take place from December 4th to 6th in the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. This route is secured as a venue until 2030.
The final approval of the calendar is still pending and is granted by the FIA motorsport world, after Liberty Media has negotiated with the racetracks. Teams were informed about the plans, but have no decision -making.
