Florianifier in Feuersbrunn: blessing new vehicles and honors!

Feuersbrunn, Österreich - On May 17, 2025, the festive Florianife of the local fire brigades took place in Feuersbrunn, market town of Grafenwörth, Lower Austria. This important event, which is celebrated in most parts of Austria on the occasion of the Floriani Day, attracted numerous guests and members of the fire brigade. The celebration was organized by the Feuersbrunn volunteer fire brigade in connection with the Jettsdorf fire brigade, which celebrated the blessing of its new supply vehicle and a portfolio injection that day. The event began with a march from the fire station to the parish church, where a Holy Mass was celebrated.

The fair was led by Pastor Mgr. Mag. Aleš Ullmann, Kaplan Mag. Franz Vala and Akolyth Roberto Natali. After returning to the fire station, sub -section fire brigade commander HBI Ing. DI (FH) Markus Hofmann welcomed the present, including LABG. Bernhard Heinreichsberger and Mayor Mag. Alfred Riedl.

Festive supporting program and honors

The blessing of the vehicles was carried out in a solemn framework. The fire brigade commanders Obi Jürgen Outstanders from Jettsdorf and Obi Josef Schmidt von Feuersbrunn led the ceremony. Particularly noteworthy are the patients for the supply vehicle, Manuela Anzenberger and Waltraud Eckenfellner. As part of the celebration, Roberto Natali was appointed an honorary member of the Feuersbrunn volunteer fire brigade due to his merits.

Another highlight was the award from LM Richard Steurer with the Medal of Merit of the Lower Austrian State Fire Brigade Association in Bronze. A total of 53 fire brigade members received the assignment medal, which is awarded for their dedicated use. The commitment of the fire brigade members was recognized in the speeches.

Following the official part of the celebration, a twilight drink with musical accompaniment by the Musikverein Feuersbrunn-Wagram took place. The Stadtkapelle Langenlois also provided festive sounds and the food and drinks were also responsible for the food and drinks. A total of 39 members of the Feuersbrunn volunteer fire brigade were present, 30 of whom were awarded a medal.

In parallel to the celebrations in Feuersbrunn, a similar event took place in Fügen in the Zillertal on April 26, 2025. The traditional Florianifeier of the Fügen volunteer fire brigade was carried out in the best weather and gave the participants a solemn framework with blessings and honors. The guests of honor included Security Councilor Astrid Mair and State Fire Brigade Commander Jakob Unterladstätter.

The Florianitag, which is celebrated annually on Sunday before or after May 4, has a long tradition and has been celebrated in a larger scale since the Second World War. May 4th is not only the name day of the fire brigade, St. Florian, but also in many regions of Austria, a holiday that is often associated with services and public demonstrations.

The joint celebration of the fire brigades is a significant part of Austrian culture and offers the members the opportunity to strengthen their commitment and camaraderie while they are recognized by the community at the same time.
