Drone attack on Kyiv: tragedy with numerous victims and injuries!

In the early morning hours of May 25, 2025, there was a massive attack on Kiev, in which "dozens of drones" were used. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed this attack and participated in the city's air defense. The civilian population was asked to withdraw into shelters. According to reports, at least nine people were killed and several other people were injured, including from the Kiev region, where at least four deaths and 16 injured, including three children, were reported. The head of the military administration of Kiev, Tymur Tkaschenko, reported more than a dozen enemy drones in airspace over the capital. Mayor Klitschko and military administrator Tkaschenko reported numerous explosions during the extensive air alarm that lasted over five hours.

The attacks were particularly directed against residential buildings, which led to heavy fires in several districts. Rescue services reported high flames and extensive destruction. In the Saporischschja region, too, four directed slide bombs caused numerous damage.

This led to restrictions in air traffic at at least four Moscow airports, including Scheremetjewo. Overall, the Russian armed forces reported that 110 Ukrainian drones were successfully intercepted.
