Debate about National Fund: Greens are calling for a new chair for Nazi victims!
Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - The debate about the management of the National Fund for the victims of National Socialism has again started speed. On March 7, 2025, the Greens' initiative request was handed over to the Constitutional Committee in the National Council, such as Exxpress.at reported.
However, there are also votes against: Markus Tschank from the FPÖ argues that the rosary is democratically chosen and the application of the Greens is politically motivated. The SPÖ politician Sabine Schatz expressed the expectation that Rosenkranz resigned from the sensitivity of the topic out of consideration. The Constitutional Committee should meet in the near future to examine this application in detail and to discuss a possible constitutional change that could enable a broader choice for the chair in the National Fund.
