Corona policy: Millions of existence on the wave of bankruptcy threatened!
Österreich - The economic consequences of Corona pandemic are still noticeable and unrestrained. This is emphasized by the FPÖ business spokeswoman Barbara Kolm in a current statement. Kolm sharply criticizes the economic policy of the government during pandemic, which in her opinion has led to massive livelihoods. According to their statement, thousands of companies went bankrupt and many people became unemployed. According to Kolm, Corona policy attacked Austria's economic substance.
The politics of the Lockdowns not only led to destroyed supply chains, but also at strongly distorted market prices. Ultimately, this also contributed to inflation, which the economy has additionally burdened. "This is not just about numbers, but about existence and people who have given up their companies," continues Kolm. Self -employed and small business owners were particularly hard, especially in the areas of craft, hospitality and tourism.
criticism of state measures
Barbara Kolm also expresses criticism of the state aid measures, which in their opinion were not sufficient. Many entrepreneurs would not have received any collateral, even though they made applications for support. While the bankruptcies in certain industries such as the producing trade were declining, the situation in the service sectors is alarming. Sectors such as aviation and hospitality suffered extreme loss of sales. This is also reflected in the numbers that show that the sales of German companies decreased less on average than during the 2009 financial crisis.
In order to cushion the effects of pandemic, state aid measures were introduced in Germany to stabilize the financing situation of the companies. Due to the temporary suspension of the bankruptcy application obligation, companies that had come into trouble were able to remain without an application. Nevertheless, the influence of these measures remains questionable, especially with regard to the sustainable healthy development of the economy.
Review of bankruptcy
Although the number of corporate insolvencies in 2020 decreased despite the corona pandemic and strict contamination measures, the risk that many bankruptcies were only suppressed remains. In 2020, 15,800 bankruptcy proceedings were registered, which represents a decline of almost 16 percent compared to the previous year. There are significant differences in the industries concerned, with some service areas being able to decline in bankruptcy proceedings.
The dark economic situation is also reinforced by inflationary development, which was fueled by Corona Policy and the Ukraine War. Prices for natural gas and mineral oil products have risen, supply chains have been interrupted, which has further influenced the inflation rate. Governments' answers to these crises could still have far -reaching consequences for economic relaxation.
KOLM therefore calls for a complete information and political processing of the measures regarded as miscolored. Because despite some positive developments that have been achieved through state aid, the economic situation remains tense in many areas and represents a great challenge for the future.
