Housing prices in Austria rise: Carinthia with the strongest increase
This year, the rental prices for apartments on the real estate platform "Immoscout24" rose in most federal states in Austria. Carinthia recorded the highest price increase of 16 percent. In Tyrol, the average rent for a 70 square meter apartment is 1,400 euros, which is 74 percent more expensive than in Upper Austria (804 euros). The square meter price for rental apartments in Carinthia increased from 12.2 euros to 14.1 euros, while Tyrol recorded a price increase of 11 percent.
In contrast, there was a decline in rental prices in Styria and Upper Austria. The most expensive rental areas were Vienna, Salzburg and Vorarlberg. In the capitals of the federal states, Innsbruck and Salzburg were most expensive, while St. Pölten, Graz and Eisenstadt offered the cheapest rents. Vienna recorded an increase of 11 percent to 19.2 euros per square meter, with the Donaustadt district recorded the greatest increase with 25 percent.The increasing demand for rental objects led to price increases in most federal states.
