Change in Burgenland: ÖVP is calling for a new course for the future!

Wien, Österreich - In Austria, the political mood is bubbling and Burgenland is facing a possible new course. ÖVP club chairman Markus Ulram made a balance of the current political situation on Monday and announced ambitious plans for the coming years. The ÖVP plans to introduce a new "precautionary thousand" and to abolish the building land mobilization tax. According to Ulram, 116 applications on topics from economic impulses to asylum policy were submitted in the last legislative period, which illustrates the urgency of a change. The aim is to work with the SPÖ in order to find a consensus in areas such as the economy and municipal care, Ulram is convinced that there are many intersections between the two parties, as well as the Krone

growing civil criticism

In the middle of this political change, the culture of distrust of politicians becomes increasingly clear. In a recent long -term study by Peter Hajek and Peter Ulram, which illuminated the relationship between citizens and politics, it was found that 64 percent of the respondents believe that politicians did not do their jobs well, while only 30 percent thought of this in 1981. The loss of trust is huge: the perception of corruption has also increased from 38 to 64 percent. These results reflect the citizens' wish to finally be taken seriously and to actively contribute to political processes.

The researchers believed that the rapid development towards more critical citizens is due to factors such as the education revolution of the 1970s and the diversification of the media landscape. More and more people are feeling competent today to take part in political discussions - the proportion of citizens who see themselves as well informed about nationwide problems has increased from 53 to 65 percent. Nevertheless, trust in the political elites remains terrifyingly low; 81 percent of the population assess their own importance in political decision -making processes. The FPÖ recorded most of the "suspicious citizens" among the respondents, which increases the continued trend towards criticism of the political landscape, as the reported.
