Social accompaniment of the Red Cross: Support for people in difficult life situations - now expanded!
The Red Cross in Burgenland is expanding its social support in order to better support people in difficult situations. After two years of experience, a restructuring and expansion of the service.
The social accompaniment of the Red Cross, which was previously offered as part of the “Team Austria Tafel” editions, will be accessible to all citizens of the Burgenland from November. The consultations take place once a month in the district offices, but volunteers are still sought for the district offices in Oberpullendorf and Jennersdorf.
This free offer includes a variety of areas of life. It includes an inventory of help offers and offers support in various matters, including the creation of a budget, if there are financial problems. 15 volunteer red-cross social companions are currently working in Burgenland.
The main goal of social accompaniment is not only to offer short -term solutions, but also to show long -term perspectives. A concrete example is a single mother with a migration background who was advised for broad formation. Thanks to the support, she found training as a nursing assistant in a hospital in Burgenland.
The initiative of the Red Cross to expand social accompaniment is an important step to help people in difficult situations and offer long -term solutions. The restructured expansion of the offer will help strengthen social well -being in Burgenland.
