Europa-Park welcomes visitor record: on the way to seven million!

The Europa-Park in Rust, known as Germany's largest amusement Park, is enjoying a considerable increase in visitors this year. Roland Mack, the founder and managing director of the park, recently said: "If it goes on like this, we will probably get five percent." This positive development is promoted by the introduction of a new roller coaster and the reopening of popular rides. Mack added that it is still unclear whether the record mark of seven million visitors will be reached.

Last year, the park counted over six million guests. With its 50th anniversary in the coming year, the Europa-Park is planning a number of special attractions and events. The new roller coaster "Voltron Nevera" has been opened since April and has already attracted almost three million passengers. This shows that the new attractions were also able to get younger visitors on board.

New subject area and planned attractions

The attractions "Alpenexpress Enzian" and "Tyrolean Wild waterway", which were rebuilt after a major fire, had around 2.7 million guests together. For the next season, the park has already announced the start of a new interactive ride in the Luxembourg topic area that is not a roller coaster. Mack emphasizes the versatility of the park: "We are doing more than roller coasters. We are a family park that wants to reach all target groups." In addition to the rides, hotels and restaurants are also part of the offer.

In the course of the year, an animated film with the park mascot Ed and Edda will come to the cinemas to honor the 50th anniversary. In addition, the water attraction "Rulantica" will receive a larger outdoor pool, which could further boost the number of visitors. For the celebrations in July, a new parade with wagons and dancers as well as various shows with artists of the park are already being planned.

price adjustments and winter season

As every year, price adjustments are also available in the Europa-Park. Admission prices should increase by about five percent, so that a standard ticket will cost at least 64.50 euros. Mack justifies this increase with the Need for "adequate prices". From this Saturday the winter season, which lasts until January 12th, also starts. The park turns into a festive winter wonderland, decorated with 3,500 fir trees, and particularly enjoys visitors from Switzerland and France.

The Europa-Park is a family company that is run by the Mack family. In the management, not only Roland Mack, but also his sons Michael and Thomas, as well as his brother Jürgen are active. According to reports, the group of companies reports an annual turnover of over 500 million euros, but specific figures are not published. The park was founded in 1975 and originally served as a shop window for the Mack Rides Schmiede carousel products before the hotel industry was added in the 1990s.
