In the Eisenberg wine -growing region, there is gratifying news for lovers of the Welschriesling. From the year 2022, this grape variety will be officially included in the Eisenberg DAC origin designation. The Welschriesling, deeply rooted in the region, is given a new meaning and appreciation among the winegrowers who have always been fighting for the tradition and quality of the wines.
This decision is particularly important because the Welschriesling was often perceived as a simple summer wine. With the crowning glory to the Eisenberg DAC, this fresh wine can now present itself in a new light. The first year with the official status will come onto the market in September 2024, which increases the anticipation among wine lovers and collectors.
a long history of viticulture
Eisenberg, the smallest wine -growing region in Austria, has made a name for itself through its rich terroir and its quality. The region can look back on over 2,800 years of viticulture. The wine -growing areas around Rechnitz and the Csaterberg offer ideal conditions: The Welschriesling grape variety thrives particularly well on the iron -containing, loamy soils of these altitudes. Here, at an altitude between 350 and 480 meters, the wines can develop their entire potential.
Reinhold Krutzler, chairman of the Eisenberg DAC, emphasizes: "The time was ripe! The Welschriesling has a long history in southern Burgenland, and we look forward to officially being included in our name." The DAC status underlines the quality and importance of this grape variety in the region.
fresh wind and new design
Another exciting aspect of this development is the new logo and corporate design by Eisenberg DAC. The relaunch not only symbolizes a change of design, but also the inclusion of the Welschriesling in the identity of the region. Winner Christoph Wachter describes the approach: "We wanted to capture the complexity of our wines and the timeless beauty of our landscape in a modern design that will accompany us in the long term."
The new logo stands for clarity and elegance and is intended to reflect the fine structure of the Eisenberg wines. It also conveys a romantic connection to the region and celebrates its unique terroir.
A special event that focuses on the new variety of wine will take place on November 9th. Under the motto "Enjoyment in the aft clock", 14 winegrowers from the Eisenberg DAC region will offer exclusive insights into their wines in ratcheting.
The innovations with the inclusion of the Welschriesling and the new corporate design not only accelerate the attention to the region, but also testify to a conscious commitment to tradition and quality in the wine culture of Burgenland. Further details are at www.meinbezirk.at find .
