New perspectives: financial and risk management at the HAK Oberpullendorf

A new focus was introduced in the Oberpullendorf trade academy: "Financial and Risk Management". This focus, also known as Firi, has been available since the current school year and has been developed in cooperation with the Banks division and insurance.

Alexander Kubin, the chairman of the division, emphasizes how important financial competence is for students. He explains that a sound knowledge in the financial sector helps the examples to make better decisions in investing and lending. "The understanding of economic relationships is crucial," said Kubin. "Today's working world demands qualified staff in the financial sector, and training at the HAK is optimally preparing for this."

a comprehensive educational offer

The new focus aims to convey a solid basis for the students in questions of finances and risks. This not only improves the personal financial management of the students, but also expands their general economic education. Those responsible underline the fact that the financial area is a central part of modern general education.

The introduction of the Firi focus was regarded by the school management, represented by director Sonja Hasler. The students who have chosen the new focus this school year benefit from a practice -oriented teaching approach that optimally prepares them for the challenges of the labor market.

Professor Rita Binder-Schöll and Ulrike Camara-Ehen, the coordinator of the new focus, explain that the course not only conveys theoretical knowledge, but also includes numerous practical projects. This enables the students to apply their knowledge directly and to gain important experiences.
