Literature competition text spark: winner: excellent inside for peace
At this year's edition of the ORF Burgenland literature competition "Textfunken", the winners were awarded on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. The competition, which was under the motto "Words for Peace" this year, recorded a total of 57 entries. The jury selected five contributions for the shortlist, with Rudolf Hochwarter received the jury award with his satirical text “My War & My Longing for Peace”. The audience award also went to Agnes Pauer, who was awarded for her feminist text “Drives the Geese out”, in which she rebels against male dominated customs. The event was moderated by editor Michaela breakfast, and atmospheric music delivered the singer songwriter Lisa Seidl from Oberpullendorf. All the greater the anticipation for the tenth "text spark" literature competition, which will be devoted to the global topic in the coming year. Reports on the event are planned in the program "Burgenland Today" and "Radio Burgenland Extra", such as orf.at reported.
connection to romance
In the academic world, parallel to the literary scene, the complex connection between textuality and structure in romantic poetry is examined. A current article deals with the poems by John Keats, especially "The Eve of St Agnes" and "La Belle Dame Sans Merci". It is discussed how intertextual aspects of these works can be seen as topological models, with the small bottle concept used to analyze the self-referential dynamics. The article describes how these poems are not regarded as separate literary works, but as coherent areas on a larger, continuous textual area. This perspective opens up new ways to investigate literary relationships, as well as academic.oup.com emphasized.
