New memorial place on the planters: a place of peace and memory

on the plant steward, in one place that urgently needs a refreshment, is created a new place that is supposed to be all about remembering, commemoration and peace. Mayor Thomas Hoffmann has to announce positive news: "Thanks to the spout on the EU funding service and the opportunity to apply for remaining money for smaller tourist projects, we were able to submit our project of a commemorative place within a very short time and receive the approval." The earthworks have already been completed and the design of the square started at the end of August.

With a budget of 495,000 euros, which is two thirds financed by the European Union and the rest of the country, everything should be completed by the end of October 2023. "This place is of central importance for our country and the Republic of Austria," emphasizes Hoffmann. The place will not only have historical importance, but will also come up with new features. The memorial of Daniel Bucur, which shows two people, is particularly remarkable, their shoulder stand on shoulder - a symbol of peace.

a place for many

The new memory area is equipped with a special monument made of black and white mosaic stones that leads people back to history. There will also be an interactive touchscreen station that enables visitors to learn more about the formative events of 1927. The year is remembered by a terrible incident, the shots of Schattendorf, which is the hundredth time in the coming year.

Additional amenities are also planned. Cyclists who are traveling on the popular Iron Curtain Trail can charge their e-bikes nearby. The space will also be invitingly designed, with various seating and an appealing planting to welcome both the villagers and hikers and cyclists.

A modern lighting system will be in the limelight of the entire area. The programmable LED lighting can be adapted depending on the season and specific topics, which will also give the square a special atmosphere in the evening. Even the buskeeping house receives an update with new light columns that further upgrade the area.

The development of this square is not only a structural, but also a cultural enrichment for the entire region, which contributes to keeping the significant story alive. Further information on the progress can be found at www.bvz.at .
