Heart wishes for Christmas: Burgenland helps needy families

Christmas is a time of charity and giving, especially for those who are in need. In Burgenland there are numerous initiatives in the run -up to Christmas to give people in need. Here you can find out how you can help and where the support comes from.

A remarkable initiative in Burgenland is the "Burgenland gives" campaign, which was launched by the "Herzserserfinder" association. The aim of this campaign is to support children and families in need through no fault of their own. Last year, over 300 wishes of Burgenland children were fulfilled. This campaign is created in cooperation with Volkshilfe Burgenland to stretch the helping hand throughout the state.

This is how the desired action

If you want to put a smile on a child in Burgenland in the face, participation in the desired action is very simple:

• step 1: choose a wish that you want to fulfill.
• Step 2: After clicking on "Fulfill the wish", some information is necessary. You will then receive a confirmation email.
• Step 3: buy and pack the gift, whereby the child's desired and the child's name should be noted on the package.
• Step 4: bring the package to a place of your choice by December 16 at the latest.
• Step 5: Use the QR code to confirm the delivery.

Another proposal for supporters is the “Christmas magic” campaign of the alliner-parent association, which is committed to the motto "single parent but not alone". Here, too, there is the possibility to request wish lists online and get gifts for needy families.

Eisenstadt helps directly

For those who live in the state capital Eisenstadt, “Eisenstadt helps” can be addressed directly to meet Christmas wishes. The organization will accept applications from children by December 9 who can send their wishes by email. After a thorough examination, supporters who fulfill these wishes is searched for.

In addition to the regional initiatives, we should not neglect the Austrian actions. The Austrian Post, together with the Samaritan Association, provides support for the most needy children in the country. Residents can hand in their gifts by December 23. Another exciting project is the “Wichtelpost” from SOS Children's Village, which fulfills Christmas wishes in the children's villages. Here, too, helpers can select and support wishers online.

LAST but not least there is the Christkindlbrief campaign of Caritas, which wants to help people with disabilities and families in need. Interested parties only have to request a desired letter and can then organize the present.
