Light into the dark: over 300,000 euros collected for people in need!
In an impressive fundraising campaign, the “Light into the Dark” project collected large sums again in 2023 to support people in need. The event, moderated by the ambassador Patricia Schuller, gave moving insights into the projects that benefit from the donations for three hours. In particular, the focus was on young people with rare muscle diseases and people with disabilities who are encouraged in day care centers. According to the coordinator Elisabeth Pauer-Gerbavsits, over 300,000 euros have been collected in Burgenland, a sign of solidarity and the support for social participation in Austria, as well as reported.
Mario Thaler, managing director of "Light into the Dark", emphasized the careful use of the donations and referred to a list of over 500 projects that are planned both last year and for the future. The increase in applications for immediate help for children and adolescents in the autism spectrum is particularly remarkable. The initiative finances essential therapies that are not adopted by the public sector, including occupational therapy and speech therapy. Solo artists such as Phiora and Sofia Reyna took over the musical accompaniment of the event, while appearances of well -known hit stars provided variety.
comprehensive support
"Light into the dark" has been a lighthouse of inclusion and support for families at risk of poverty and people with disabilities in Austria for over 50 years. In 2023, more than 20 million euros flowed into projects and immediate help, which would benefit 6,404 families and people. The campaign makes a decisive contribution to the fact that people with disabilities can lead a self -determined life. The association thanks all company partners and donors who, with their support, promote social cohesion, such as burgenland.orf reported.
