New youth information starts in Eisenstadt: Support on site for young people
In Eisenstadt, the new youth information of the Burgenland is currently being presented to offer young people easier to offer young people to information, advice and support. The initiative was launched at the conference of the Federal Network Austrian Youth Info (Böji) and pursues the goal of integrating these offers directly into youth centers.
The State Councilor Daniela Winkler emphasized the importance of this youth information, which started operating on September 1, 2024. Instead of staying in the office of the Burgenland state government, the youth information is now offered in the youth centers on site. This step ensures that the information is available where the young people actually stay. "With this change we would like to bring our services closer to the youngsters," said Winkler.
opening times and offer
The youth information can now be found every Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Jim youth center in Eisenstadt. In addition, the youth information will be regularly represented in various youth centers in Burgenland, once a month during opening hours. Interested parties can view the exact dates on the youth information website.
A central aspect of the youth information is the free and confidential advice offered by a social worker. The offer is aimed not only at young people between the ages of 12 and 21, but also at legal guardians, family members, teachers and specialists in open youth work. "The offer is anonymous and voluntary so that everyone who has questions or need support can feel safe," said Winkler.
It is worth noting that the youth information and youth centers play different roles in the life of young people. While youth centers primarily offer leisure activities and a safe space, the focus of the youth information is on the imparting of information and specific advice in areas such as education, work or psychosocial questions. Here young people can not only be advised, but also refer to suitable institutions if further support is required.
The network for youth information
The Federal Network Austrian Youth Infos, consisting of 2004, combine several youth information centers in Austria. The aim of this network is to network the youth information among themselves and to develop common initiatives. Currently, seven of nine youth information are a member of the Böji, while the youth information Kärnten and Infoeck of the generations - Tyrol take part.
For detailed information on the services of the youth information, interested parties can visit the website or ask directly in the youth center. "We are here to give the young people a voice and to support them in their concerns," said the urgent appeal by State Councilor Daniela Winkler, who sees the project as an important step for young people in Burgenland.
