New back factory in Hornstein: Fresh bread for the community!

In the small town of Hornstein, a new bakery was recently opened, which brings a fresh wind to the otherwise rather limited local supply. The "back factory" has opened its doors in the medical competence center and offers the residents a selection of fresh baked goods. Before that, the SPÖ had practiced sharp criticism and pointed out that the existing shops for a municipality with over 3,300 inhabitants are inadequate.

"It is time that we provide the residents better," said Mayor Christoph Wolf in view of the current situation. In view of the closure of a bakery, the opening of the "back factory" was a welcome step. Before that there was only a Billa supermarket and a Kastl Greissler in Hornstein, which is not sufficient for many residents.

opening of the back factory

The opening of the new bakery used Mayor Wolf to express his best wishes to the operator Shouman Zahir. "I congratulate the Hornsteiner Shouman Zahir on his new restaurant and wish him and his team every success," said Wolf. The "back factory", located on the ground floor of the medical competence center, not only offers fresh bread and crews, but also a selection of coffee that can either be enjoyed to take away or on site. "The local supplier is a perfect addition to the offer in our medical competence center," added the mayor and was enthusiastic about the overall concept of the new bakery.

The medical competence center in Hornstein has been an important point of contact since its opening in 2021. In addition to a pharmacy and various specialists, the new bakery ensures a varied care of the residents. In the premises of the former band factory, space was also created for 28 senior citizens' apartments, which are specifically geared towards the needs of older people.

future plans for local supply

With the opening of the "Backfabrik", discussions for another grocery store are already underway. "We hope for the promise of a shopping market," said Wolf. However, he emphasized that the effort to bring another local supplier to the community is often underestimated. The municipality is therefore still actively trying to expand the shops in town and to meet the needs of the residents.

The increase in services and business plays a crucial role in the quality of life in Hornstein. The focus is on ensuring comprehensive local supply and creating a broader offer to the citizens. More details on this topic can be found in a detailed report www.meinbezirk.at .
