Eisenstadt fights: Jewish museum needs millions - donation -proof started!
Wertheimer Haus, 7000 Eisenstadt, Österreich - In Eisenstadt, the Austrian Jewish Museum is urgently renovated - and this becomes a matter close to the heart for many! The political scientist and journalist Danielle Spera focused on a donation festival and enthusiastically spoke about the "hidden jewel". According to Spera, it is essential that this museum, which has been located in the Wertheim house in the former Jewish quarter since 1978, is urgently restored. The director of the museum, Esther Heiss, emphasizes the urgency of the project: "We are talking about several million that it actually needs." Heuss gives an amount of eight to nine million euros for the complete renovation of the 17th century.
new focus on cultural heritage
In order to procure the necessary funds, the "Förderverein for the Jewish Museum Eisenstadt" was launched. This will become active from next year to secure finances for comprehensive renovation and thus to maintain the cultural heritage. The museum not only offers a valuable insight into Jewish culture, but is also a place for encounters and exchange. As the new Jewish Museum in Frankfurt shows, the participatory access is an essential element in museum work: temporary platforms such as the POP -Boat promoted the dialogue for important questions about Jewish life.
The commitment to intercultural understanding, as the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt drives, is also an answer to the growing violence in our social interaction. The promotion of self -reflection and the tangible of Jewish history are goals that are also becoming increasingly important in Eisenstadt. With the support of the community and through new initiatives, the Austrian Jewish Museum can look into a successful future. Information about the activities and projects can be found on the Pages of ORF and the Jewish Museum, which report on the urgency of these concerns.
