Burgenland: Police service with record recordings for the future

In Burgenland, the police situation of the police has improved considerably. The current recruitment measures show significant success, because the number of new police students is almost twice as high compared to the previous year. While 78 candidates were added to basic training in 2023, there are already 112 for 2024, and 100 new jobs are planned for 2025. This means that the State Police Directorate has no problems with pension exits, since the staff status is kept constant by the ongoing recordings.

The good development in Burgenland is also due to an increased advertising measure. In the current year, around 480 people applied for a place in the police - a remarkable increase compared to about 250 a year earlier. These positive figures illustrate interest in a career in the police service.

extension of the police school

A result of the high recording rates is the need to expand the police school in Eisenstadt. In the future, two training courses will take place on the premises of the Chamber of Commerce in order to prevent courses from being outsourced to Lower Austria or Vienna. These initiatives lead to an improved training situation in Burgenland, which strengthens regionality. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner emphasizes: "This creates the opportunity to train Burgenland police officers directly in Burgenland".

In addition to the spatial expansion, the selection process was also modernized, which has proven to be advantageous. Visible tattoos are no longer an exclusion criterion, and the sporting requirements have been integrated into the basic training. The realignment of the police service also includes the introduction of new training content, such as cyber training and various sports modules. This makes the job much more attractive for many interested parties.

The Burgenland police also benefit from the support of the border unit "Fox", which currently includes around 50 civil servants. This unit relieves the regular police forces and ensures additional security in the region.

A comprehensive campaign that carries the slogan "I can get it" is aimed primarily at the young audience and has found great well -received in particular through social media. Such innovative approaches to recruitment show both the applications and the recordings.

The police in Burgenland remains future -proof and set up for new challenges.
